Ada County Highway District (ACHD) 2018 & 2019 Green Stormwater Implementation

For the 2018 GSI project, two alleys in downtown Boise were identified as locations for possible installation of permeable pavers to reduce stormwater runoff volumes. The permeable pavers provided an environmentally conscious method to treat and store stormwater flows from downtown Boise, reducing the stormwater runoff volume to the area’s surface waters. The alleys were successfully retrofitted with permeable pavers during the summer of 2018 with Civil Survey Consultants providing engineering construction services.

We provided topographic and control survey services, established location of existing right-of-way and property ownership map (including all private and utility easements), prepared a contour base map and prepared a base map of existing utilities.

We provided the same professional land surveying and design services for two additional alleys under the 2019 GSI project.

Ada County Highway District (ACHD) Overlays/Capital Maintenance

CSC has provided professional land surveying and engineering design services for dozens of overlay/capital maintenance projects for ACHD over the past 20 years. Many of the roadway segments were in the City of Boise and within CCDC’s jurisdiction area. Over the years, miles of roadways and hundreds of pedestrian ramps/driveways were successfully constructed in accordance with ADA standards based on land surveying and engineering services provided by our office.

Meridian Development Corporation (MDC) Carlton Avenue Area Sidewalk and Street Improvement Project (2017-2019)

We provided professional surveying and engineering design services for the construction of over 1,000 feet of new curb and sidewalk along Carlton Avenue and SE 5th Street in Downtown Meridian under a Community Development Block Grant. The project also included the reconstruction of Carlton Avenue between 2 ½ Street and 4th Street along with some storm drain system improvements. We provided topographic and control survey services, established location of existing right-of-way and property lines, prepared legal descriptions for necessary easements and will provided construction staking services. The design was completed in 2017.

City of Meridian Storey Park Subdivision (2013)

CSC provided professional land surveying services to the City of Meridian as needed to subdivide the existing Storey Park property located at Franklin Road and Main Street in Meridian. The intent of the project was to subdivide the 18.5 acre parcel into four lots in order to facilitate a land swap between the Meridian Dairy Board, Meridian Speedway and the City of Meridian.

Upon completing the subdivision process the City was able to expand Storey Park and provide direct access between Franklin Road and Watertower Street as well as allow the Speedway and Dairy Board to expand into currently unused City Park property adjacent to their parcels.

We provided topographic mapping, boundary surveying, preparation of boundary and easement descriptions and preliminary and final subdivision plat preparation. We worked with City Development Services and Planning Departments to ensure all requirements were met.

Meridian Development Corporation (MDC) Second and Broadway Condominiums (2011)

We provided professional land surveying services to Meridian Development Corporation needed to develop a property located on Broadway Avenue between NE 2nd Street and NE 3rd Street in Meridian. We provided topographic mapping, boundary surveying, condominium plat preparation and deed and easement preparation. We also worked with MDC, City of Meridian Development Services and Planning Departments and the Ada County Surveyor’s office to ensure all requirements were met.

The project resulted in the construction of a two story building that was developed as a four unit commercial condominium to be occupied by the Community Planning Association (COMPASS) and Valley Regional Transit (VRT). The remaining portion of the property was also developed into a public parking lot.
